In
this series of articles, well known feng shui expert/consultant
Paul Darby (The Feng Shui Doctor from British TV), tells us why
feng shui is scientific, explains how and why it works!!
PART ONE.
I have named
three books at the end of this first article, I cannot emphasise
how helpful they have all been and recommend them to you. If you
only read one out of the three-'The Field' by Lynne McTaggart is
superb and goes into great detail about the points I will make throughout
these articles!
Over the last
two years, following ten years plus of study into the origins and
practices of feng shui, I have been studying and reading all I can
about Quantum Physics. I wanted to do this because I felt, in the
21st century, there must be proof that chi, natural energy patterns
exist-- I was not disappointed.
Now I am not
a 'quantum' scientific person, but, the books were interesting,
and the findings are absolutely astounding. The more I read about
the subatomic world of quantum physics, the more that I realised
the ancient Chinese had discovered just what made us and our environment
tick. They then gave their findings very poetic and metaphorical
names, obviously not having the equipment, not really knowing the
science behind their findings-just the results which worked for
them.
But since the
1950s scientists all over the world, but especially in Europe and
North America, have been proving the existence of 'chi' energy,
the importance of environment, and the interconnections between
us and our surroundings--the vital web---the Tao.
The Sixties
band 'The Beach Boys' were right, everything really is 'Good Vibrations'.
We know sound is, we have discovered about crystals and colours,
but to that add taste, food, diet, air, objects, plants, trees,
and lights--everything that exists.
We are picking
up vibrations all of the time from all of the things which surround
us, all of the things we eat and drink----and more importantly-giving
these vibrations out as well. Where do these vibrations come from
and what effects do they have?
Quantum Physics
looks at the subatomic workings of particles and waves of energy
produced by everything. In the year 2000, American Scientists called
this-'Dark Energy', which sounds like something out of 'Star Wars'.
It is also being called 'The Field', 'The Web', amongst other things-but
known to the ancient Chinese as the Tao-- a field full of chi.
More important
than any name however, is the fact that this energy has been proven
to bring constant, unconscious communication between everything-get
that- CONSTANT and UNCONSCIOUS--what us Buddhists would call 'subtle',
and so, for feng shui-just what we have always known to be true,
a connection between us and our environment exists-which affects
us and our way of life.
Everything is
made up of patterns of vibrating particles/waves. On a subatomic
level, sometimes, they are particles, sometimes, they are waves.
The 'becoming and unbecoming' as the Ancient Taoists called it,
between the two, is random, and can change at any time--a creative
potentiality, the Chinese always accepted-the cycles and processes
of nature--the constant change- the moving from yin to yang.
These vibrations,
these patterns, are what the Chinese call the Tao--made up of natural
vibrating electro- magnetic energy-a subtle 'photon' light, the
web of life, which connects us all--affects us all.
We tap into
it, we give to it, and we take from it. The Tao is a pulsating natural
vast 'Internet' of pure potential which can be drawn upon, by tapping
in correctly to the right frequencies, the right wave patterns,
the correct vibrations--something which feng shui experts over the
centuries have done.
Meditators,
healers, acupuncturists, psychics, healers, shamans, yoga practitioners-all
tap into the same energy source. The Chinese, Japanese, Indians,
Native Americans, Aborigines, Sufis all talk of the chi, the ki,
the 'singing lines'-- the natural energy which is there to be tapped
into, to be used.
In modern times,
because of electricity, oil pollution, buildings, obstructions,
some of these natural vibrations have been distorted by artificially
made vibrations---leading to stress, illness, cancer, M.S., M.E.,
aggression and selfishness!
Feng shui, aligns
us again with our surroundings, tunes us back into the right frequencies-the
good vibrations, gets us to resonate with the natural, helping,
creative potential around us!
I acknowledge
the valuable information given in the following books and would
recommend them to you:
The Field -Lynne
McTaggart-published by Harper Collins
The Tao of Physics- Fritjof Capra-published by Flamingo
Jacobson's Organ - Lyall Watson- published by Allen Lane
PART TWO.
Good vibrations
then, are the answer! I always suspected the hippies had the right
idea!!!. As George Harrison sang' Life goes on within you and without
you'!
The energy vibrations
given off and taken in by everything in the 'Web', the Tao, are
simple, electrically charged resonances, in a kind of digital code
which our bodies and indeed everything else in the Cosmos can tune
into and use, absorbing its information and creative potential.
But remember, we give out the vibrations as well and so contribute
to the Tao as well as taking from it.
These electrical
charges of energy- vibrating waves of pulsating very weak photon
'light' are constantly reacting and responding to each other. The
vibrations-the natural energy, or 'chi' as some call it, is creative
potentiality in its purest form and by enhancing, protecting and
using the environment around us in a positive way, we can learn
to tune into this creative potentiality and use it. Remember this
is quantum physics not just ancient feng shui speaking!
Why did physicists
get into proving this? They see a vast source of untapped energy
which can be used for space travel and other every day uses throughout
the world. Hence the research, hence the interest. The proof about
feng shui is just a fascinating by- product!
I use Compass
School Feng Shui, which states that the chi in different compass
locations varies in its composition and energy levels-yin/yang and
the five elements. This is just the ancient Chinese way of referring
to these various and changing energy patterns.
Quantum physicists
would agree with this and point to the natural environment, the
winds and the weather as the explanation of the differing electrical
charges, the subtle vibrations all around us. This huge, endless
field of energy, means we are all interconnected with one another
and with our surroundings constantly-a 'domino' effect-all pushing
against each other---so, as feng shui as always stated--changes
in colour, movement, light, plants, sounds will affect the vibrational
qualities of the air around us and so therefore affect the vibrations,
the energy patterns and as a result--us, our moods, our health,
our feelings, our positivity.
That's feng
shui in a nutshell!
We are resonating-human
'tuning forks'-harmonising with these vibrations-the cells of our
body trying to pitch exactly to the vast 'tunes of the universe',
either tuning in, or being in discord, with our environment all
of the time. No wonder it affects us if we sleep in the wrong place,
if lots of pointed corners speed up the vibrations, if beams push
them down at us. Hopefully now, it all makes sense- and this is
the rub, it always did make sense-but some of us needed scientific
experiment and proof-read 'The Field' by Lynne McTaggart--it is
a book full of proof!
Feng Shui is
common sense, an earth science, applied practically and logically
with the added experience of the practitioner in what works best
and why. Feng shui is an ancient knowing of the principles of the
universe, without the fancy names quantum scientists give to it
today. The important thing is IT WORKS- it always has and always
will work. But the vibrations- as we shall see, explain all other
therapies, healing, natural ways of 'de-stressing', -even reincarnation
and the death process-which I studied with Tibetan monks and nuns.
We are all part
of the soup-the Tao, as is everything else. All in the Tao effects
everything else in the Tao - the recipe has to be spot on, or the
taste will be off--we are part of it-it is part of us!
This vibrating,
powerful sea of energy flowing around us, coming from us, and being
taken in by us, needs us to be in tune, literally 'in tune' with
our surroundings. If we are not, confusion sets in - storms in the
ocean rock our little boats.
These storms,
this discord, this confusion can lead to stress, illness, and emotional
problems. If we are not able to 'pick up good vibrations' - it is
usually because the man-made world around us has spoilt the natural
electrical charges, the 'light', the 'sounds', the 'music', 'jamming'
the frequencies with artificial electromagnetic energy - so - we
live in discord!
Feng shui, when
performed correctly, 'tunes' our world, allows the instrument to
be played properly, like a radio tuned in precisely to a frequency-cutting
out 'nasty' interference--stopping the 'jamming'.
This natural
energy, this 'chi', is all electrically charged packets of energy
- vibrational patterns. The closer the patterns rub together, close
together and unite, the more likely, matter, something solid, is
formed.
We are then-closely
knit, vibrating packets of energy. Our vibrations are unique and
respond to the vibrations around us in general, but in slightly
unique ways. General patterns of reactions have been worked out
by the feng shui masters, so that career, health, wealth, relationships,
creativity can all be 'tuned in'.
PART THREE.
This 'tuning
in' to the vibrations has intrigued all the wise people throughout
time and still does- from shamans to scientists, from philosophers
to psychics and engineers. Aristotle and Michael Faraday knew there
was more to things that those that could be actually seen! They
knew, but could not prove that the most important part of energy
was not its source but the field of influence around it.
Quantum Physicists
in the 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s and the 21st century are now explaining
why meditation, acupuncture and feng shui work. The chi is simply
an electromagnetic field, an influence which either can be helpful-
if used well, or can hinder, if ignored, or put 'out of tune' by
where, and how we live.
A famous physicist
puts it simply-'Every time you use a toaster, the field around it
changes its vibrations slightly throughout your environment'.
That's just
one toaster, so look at all the other things, electrical, non-electrical,
which 'pollute' the vibrations, the natural energies, and the potential
around us. No wonder we are in such a mess! Read Lynne McTaggart's
'The Field' for more scientific experiments into these vibrations
and their effects!
Feng shui minimises
the interference and enhances the resonances- the good vibrations!
The constant exchanges of vibrations, these dynamic dancing waves
of energy are bound to affect us, our surroundings, our world--positively
and/or negatively charged, with differing wave length frequencies--
this is the yin and yang, the five elements, the compass directions,
the metaphors of the Celestial Animals used by the Chinese for thousands
of years.
They knew they
were onto something- must have been for it to last-they did not
understand it completely, they just knew it worked!!!
Now quantum
scientists tell us that every particle, every wave of energy, of
this 'natural electricity', this weak and subtle 'photon light'
dances, radiates its own vibrations, its own patterns. Some patterns
create and grow, others, disintegrate and are lost--the constructive
and destructive cycles described by feng shui experts for many centuries!
We harmonise with our surroundings, we tune in, and we pick up on
what is around us--either in a constructive or a destructive way.
Quantum physics
says there has to be harmony, a balance, a meeting of positive and
negative electrical charges. The timeless balance of yin and yang
used by feng shui and Chinese medicine for thousands of years. All
is a 'trembling motion'--jiggling energy.
We are concentrated
energy--not really solid at all, as are all 'solid' objects, live
or inanimate. We vibrate, everything vibrates- in a harmonic natural
pattern of dynamic energy flow. What do we do!!!-Surround ourselves
with metal, plastic, microwaves, TVs, mobile phones, electricity-
all kinds of poisonous concoctions, and then wonder why we do not
feel so good--we are losing the 'music', we are not tuned in-we
have drifted off the right frequency and cannot connect!!
Get back to
the natural patterns of chi, tune in, resonate, harmonise---feng
shui will help you. Around us is a vast energy bank- an 'Internet'
of potential. It is positive, creative energy-and we, with our clever
inventions, have poisoned, polluted and disrupted the very 'medicine',
which can help us!
I can name hundreds
of scientists, thousands of experiments to prove what I am saying.
Best read the books I recommended at the beginning of this series
of articles-- all the evidence is there!
One famous scientist-Popp-proved
the interaction of electromagnetic radiation, in its natural and
more dangerous manmade forms, with biological systems. He proved
that vibrating energy waves called 'photons'- a weak light source-[called
by some people auras]-were interfered with by vibrating fields of
energy-causing the photons in our body to vibrate in tune with those
around us. When those vibrations were natural and healthy--great----if
unhealthy resonances were tuning our bodies, then illnesses such
as cancer, MS, ME, depression were caused!
Feng Shui gives
you access to the subatomic Internet! It allows freedom, access
to millions of patterns of positive, creative potential------but
'discord,' produced from nasty energy patterns, can corrupt the
system, producing a 'virus' which can destroy- as with a computer
---a 'worm' which destroys from within--'memory banks', 'access'
and use- causing our system to CRASH!--Blue Screen! vv.
PART FOUR.
Feng Shui is
a method of accessing the 'good vibrations' around us.
Feng Shui tunes
us into quantum packets of energy which can help us get through
life, support us through hard times, create potential and creativity
to bring the best out of us during good times, protect us against
the interference of artificial electromagnetic energy-poison arrows,
shar chi! Feng Shui is not the only method for doing this- many
methods work-I use feng shui, tai chi, chi kung and meditation.
Use what works for you-and use them in a cocktail, which gives optimum
results for you!
Feng Shui tunes
our environment and us, harmonising, energising--blending us together
helping internally and externally. All DNA, all cells resonate,
vibrate--a cell produces 100,000 chemical reactions per second--yes,
that is-per second. Each reaction produces a vibration, each cell
liberates billions of vibrations--so the Tao, The Field, The Web,
the soup of life comes into being--think of the jiggling, zinging,
dancing which is there around you!
The special
vibrations- called morphogenesis cause cell co-ordination and communication.
They help the body play as an orchestra--in harmony, instead of
the discord produced when unhealthy-artificially produced vibrations-
'black streams'---man-made electromagnetic fields- interfere with
this building process disrupting and distorting cells.
A scientist
named Burr[read more about him in Lynne Mctaggart's book] discovered
that all things have energy fields and each energy field of everything
is unique.
What he did
find interesting was that a chicken's energy field is the same as
that emitted from an egg. The baby has an adult blueprint to work
to!!!! This pattern is within the object and also radiates form
it-- its aura!
Changes in the
patterns of electrical charges, the vibrational patterns can produce
growth, sleep, light, water, and disease!
For example,
by messing around with the energy patterns of a flat worm, Marsh
and Beams discovered they could develop the head where the tail
was and the tail where the head should be! They had discovered that
these collective patterns of vibrations got the proteins in cells
to co-operate with each other. The proteins working together produce
an electrical charge, this charge sets off waves of vibrating energy,
wave patterns---so the soup of life- the Tao is created-ever moving-ever
changing.
Later on, scientists
discovered that these patterns varied in cyclic rhythms, 7-14-32-80-270
days.
Serious illnesses
seemed to be a loss of these rhythms--through outside interference
with the natural processes. A 'not feeling right' when ill, is exactly
that! A loss of balance, a lack of harmony--getting the wrong vibrations,
or not being able to pick up the good ones around you because of
'jamming' and interference from the environment.
Feng Shui helps
to rebalance the systems of the environment, producing the right
vibrational patterns, which in turn help to resonate and tune the
vibrational patterns we need in order to flourish.
We need to be
synchronised with our surroundings. In experiments with daphnia
[water fleas], quantum physicists discovered that not only do they
'suck up', tune into, and take on vibrations from their surroundings
but from each other. Even more astounding, when some were placed
in distress, the others picked up on this. This also happened with
trees and plants!
Wave resonance
between things, between everything produces a positive, creative,
growth-enhancing communication 'Internet' 'email' system. If this
communication system is broken down, or interfered with--dis-ease,
lack of 'ease' begins! Homeopathy is a Wave resonance between things,
between everything produces a positive, creative, growth-enhancing
communication 'Internet' 'email' system. If this communication system
is broken down, or interfered with--dis-ease, lack of 'ease' begins!
Homeopathy is a great example of this communication system, but
then so is animal, bird and fish migration, meditation, acupuncture
and of course- feng shui as well as many other therapies and methods.
By using 'tuning
forks' in whatever therapy method or blend of methods you wish,
the body can be balanced and harmonised with its surroundings, allowing
the environment to help with healing-- the internal is affected
by the external and vice versa. Ancient Taoist Alchemy books talk
of the internal and external landscapes being one.
This effect
has been noted and used by the medical profession in its simplest
form for years. Pleasant surroundings, pleasant music [vibrations],
during an operation and then afterwards, help the healing. Patients
facing trees and hills get better quicker better than those facing
a busy car park and buildings. No surprise there surely? Hence the
aquarium in the dentists' waiting room! But more about water very
shortly!
